I. Checking the Dial-up Networking.
- Double
Click My Computer.
- If
you have Dial-up Networking installed,
you should have an icon of Dial-up
Networking.
- If
not you should install it first.
II.
Installing the Dial-up Networking.
- First
be sure if you have the Windows 95/98
CD installer, if you go to the next step.
- Click
on the Start button.
- Click
on Settings.
- Click
on Control Panel.
- When
the Contro Panel window opens, click on
Add/Remove Programs.
- Click
on Windows Setup.
- Highlight
the item Commucication,
then click Details.
- Check
on the item Dial-up Networking,
and click Ok.
- Be
sure that your Windows 95/98 CD installer
is inserted on the CD-ROM.
- After
the installation, you can now procede
to creating a new dialer.
III.
Creating a new Dialer.
- Double
Click My Computer.
- Double
Click Dial-up Networking.
- Double
Click Make New Connection.
- It
will ask you to type a name for the computer
you're dialing, type "Pacific
Internet"
- Click
on Next.
- It
will ask you forArea Code, Telephone number,
and Country Code, "02"
for Area Code "323-6888"
for Telephone number field. Here are the
Dialup numbers that can be used:
323-6888 (ETPI) , 414-6988
(Bayantel).
- Click
on Next.
- Click
on Finish.
IV.
Configure the Dialer.
- Double
Click My Computer.
- Double
Click Dial-up Networking.
- Right
Click on the Pacific Internet icon, then
choose Properties.
- Under
General Field, uncheck the Use
country code and area code.
- Click
on Server Types
- Under
Server Types Field, uncheck Log
on to Network, NetBEUI and IPX/SPX
Compatible.
- Click
on TCP/IP Settings.
- Check
on Server Assigned IP Address.
- Check
on Specify Name Server Addresses
- On
Primary DNS field, type
"210.23.234.33".
- On
Secondary DNS field,
type "210.23.234.65".
- Check
on Use IP header compression.
- Check
on Use default gateway on remote
network.
- Click
OK.
- Click
OK again.
